Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who passionately recognized his administration’s goal of eliminating dependence on petroleum, took an oath in establishing the best and brightest of Israel to reduce global energy consumption.

“The Prime Minister’s pledge to focus Israel’s finest minds on the grave problems posed by current energy consumption patterns – from water shortages to pollution to the funding of brutal regimes which finance terrorism – is enormously encouraging,” Harris said.

In recent history, the country has been plagued by a few environmental and building issues, such as asbestos exposure, which can lead to a rare cancer known as mesothelioma. According to the Israeli Environmental Protection Ministry’s assessment, there are still dangerously high levels of built-up areas that contain asbestos throughout the country. “Raising citizen awareness about the environment is a central element of environmental action,” Ezra said.

Gilad Erdan, the Israeli Environment Minister, spoke at a recent cabinet meeting and also discussed initiatives to reduce global dependence on petroleum and new green technologies which will make for a healthier, more eco-friendly world.

“The key target areas include cutting down significantly the level of air pollution, increasing the relevance of recycling and improving its capacity, and also improving overall awareness standards regarding the environment among the general population.”
